CIIT Abbottabad Scholarship Schemes
CIIT follows a well spelt-out modus operandi to provide financial assistance to students who are good in studies but are handicapped due to financial constraints. A special fund is allocated to cater to the needs of the deserving students. For this purpose Financial Assistance Committees operate on all campuses to look into such cases. The different arrays of facilities which are provided under the monitory assistance program are briefly discussed below. Read further and apply for the financial assistance as required;

Campus Level Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is provided to students on need-cum-merit basis. Those students are eligible who are in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial problems. Financial assistance is provided to the students after the first semester. At least 80% attendance is mandatory in all the registered courses and no disciplinary action or proceedings should be in progress or pending against the student at the time of application for financial assistance.

It is a loan facility recoverable within two years without any interest. It is granted to the students of 2nd semester and onwards. Only those students are eligible who are also in good academic standing with at least 80% class attendance and no disciplinary problems, and are in need of proven financial help.

c) Kinship/Siblings Concession
When two siblings are concurrently students of CIIT, 50% tuition fee concession to one sibling is admissible provided both maintain good academic standing and are not in receipt of any other concession/scholarship, etc. This concession will be subject to an application supported by:
- Copies of NIC or “B” form of the students
- Copy of father’s NIC
- Copy of paid challan forms for the recent semester

All the employees of CIIT contribute 1% of gross salary in addition to the 2 % contributed by CIIT towards Taleem Fund. This fund is distributed in students on need-cum merit basis in every semester as Financial Assistance to meet their tuition fee expenses. The student has to apply through his/her department and after giving interview to the Taleem Fund Committee he/she gets a full or partial waiver in the tuition fee, on need-cum-merit basis.

e) Japanese Need Based Scholarships
The HEC-JICA sponsored scholarships under the Japanese Need Based Scholarship Program, for the students of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology studying in the disciplines of IT & Telecom and Business Administration at Bachelor and Master level, are also available.

f) CIIT Scholarhsip for Academic Excellence Program (CSP)
(a) Position in a Semester
Students who demonstrate academic excellence by achieving outstanding positions at the end of the semester in each degree program on a campus shall be awarded merit scholarship as below;
- First Position
A student who secures first position in terms of CGPA at the end of semester will
be given a cash award of Rs. 20,000/- with a certificate.
- Second Position
A student who secures second position in terms of CGPA at the end of semester will
be given a cash award of Rs. 15,000/- with a certificate.
- Third Position
A student who secures third position in terms of CGPA at the end of semester will
be given a cash award of Rs. 12,000/- with a certificate.
- Fourth Position
A student who secures fourth position in terms of CGPA at the end of semester will
be given a cash award of Rs. 10,000/- with a certificate.
- Fifth Position
A student who secures fifth position in terms of CGPA at the end of semester will
be given a cash award of Rs. 8,000/- with a certificate.
- Sixth Position
A student who secures sixth position in terms of CGPA at the end of semester will
be given a cash award of Rs. 6,000/- with a certificate.

The above scheme of scholarships is applicable for class strength of 150 students or more.

The number of scholarships will be admissible as tabled below;

Positions will be determined at the overall enrollment of students in a particular semester.

In case, two or more students secure the same GPA, position will be determined on the basis of the total marks / percentage of marks secured in the semester.

Position scholarships will be admissible if the GPA is not less than 3.25/4.00

(b)Top 10 Board Position
CIIT will provide financial support in the form of scholarships to the students who get admission in CIIT and are among the top ten position holders in their respective Board of Examination at Intermediate level. The scholarship carries a cash award of Rs. 20,000/- per semester and continues to be admissible in subsequent semester if the scholarship holder maintains a CGPA of 3.50 / 4.00
(c) Schoalrships to Top 5% of the Admitted Students:
New students admitted in each session are awarded top 5% scholarships in full fee paying programs. The top 5 % scholarship on the overall score may be allotted fee waiver as per the following criteria:

Rs. 20, 000/- fee waiver for the top 5% students admitted in each undergraduate degree program, who obtains top positions in overall merit of all admitted students determined on the basis of Board exams and NTS test, which is in no case should be below 75%.

This concession is admissible to these students in the first semester and may continue in subsequent semesters if a CGPA of 3.25/4.00 is maintained.

Rs. 10, 000/- fee waiver for the top 5% students admitted in each undergraduate degree program, who obtains top positions in overall merit of all admitted students determined on the basis of Board exams and NTS test, which is in no case should be below 60%. (60% to 74.99%)

This concession is admissible to these students in the first semester and may continue in subsequent semesters if a CGPA of 3.00/4.00 is maintained.

g) Campus Level Financial Assistance
On different campuses certain incentive schemes are also available for specified categories, who are given fee concessions. In certain cases the fee concession is as much as 100%, like the industrial worker’s children who are nominated by the Punjab Workers Welfare Board and who meet the eligibility and admission criteria of the Lahore campus
Further details of Campus Level Financial Assistance / Various Scholarships are available at each CIIT campus admission office. However, each campus may have scholarship schemes that are unique to it, and may not necessarily be applicable to all CIIT campuses. Prospective Students are therefore encouraged to find out from the Campus of their choice which types of scholarships it has on offer
