Department of Electrical Engineering, CIIT Abbottabad organized an Open House on 25 June 2012. The event is organized every year in which the industry is invited from all over the country to view Final Year Projects of Graduating Students of Engineering, thus making these projects even more in line with the country’s industrial needs. In addition to this, interviews with Executives of Telecom and Solar Energy Companies were also held during the event for jobs and internships of our graduates with these organizations.
Different academic, research and developmental activities within the department were on display during the event. Booths were also set up for display of industrial products and services. The event helped in providing a platform where Industry, academia and students interacted to formulate mechanisms for future cooperation. Worthy Director CIIT Abbottabad, Professor Dr. Khan Gul Jadoon inaugurated the event. Elites from industry/organizations including WAPDA, PEC, ICT R&D, DOST,TIP, Bestway Cement, and ANDRITZ Hydro etc. were present on the occasion to access the quality & synchronization of the projects with the present day challenges. Based on the feedback from the judges of academia & industry, best three projects were selected.
Before the closing ceremony, lunch was served to honorable guests where they had a chance to interact with the academia people regarding funded projects by the industry personnel. Engr. Syed Abdul Qadir Shah, Chairman, Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) was the Guest of Honor at the closing ceremony. He was very appreciative of the quality of the exhibited projects as well as the efforts made by CIIT Abbottabad to promote its graduating students. Cash prizes & appreciation certificates were awarded to the winners of Project Exhibition. Worthy Director CIIT Abbottabad in his closing remarks applauded the efforts of the management committee for making the event a success. He also thanked the worthy guests for attending the event in spite of busy schedule. At the end, shields and Souvenirs were presented to the guests.
