Technomoot 2014

CIIT ABBOTTABAD organized its eight high-Tech national level event consisting of seminars, symposia and exhibitions under the umbrella of TechnoMoot 2014. Technomoot 2014 comprised the following activities: 

  • EMCOT
  • CCIS
  • CSE
  • Vision ICT
  • Miles
  • S-Dev
  • Height

Opening Ceremony of the event was held on 12 May 2013. Dr Tariq Mehmood, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, LUMS  graced the ceremony as the chief guest. Dr. Shahid Khattak, Convener TechnoMoot 2014 gave a brief of Technomoot 2014. All faculty members and a large number of students attended the event. Director CIIT Abbottabad Prof. Dr Khan Gul Jadoon in his address thanked the Chief Guest for attending the event. Chief Guest was very appreciative of the conducive teaching and learning environment of CIIT Abbottabad. 

The two days event went very well in which various renowned universities of Pakistan participated. Closing Ceremony of the event was held on 13 May 2014. 

Details of the events are as follows: 

EMCOT

It was all Pakistan open competition on the embedded systems and microcontrollers. There were seminars on the frontiers in electronics by eminent scientists. These activities were organized to exchange their expertise in these fields and aimed to enhance the potential in our faculty and students.

Miles 

Keeping in view the importance of management and its strategic role in today’s ever-changing and dynamic environment, the Department of Management Sciences, CIIT, Abbottabad, once again, provided a platform not only for business students but also working entrepreneurs, managers, businessmen and faculty for interaction and exposure within their community at national level for sharing the latest trends in the field of management sciences. The events held under MILES during Technomoot have aimed at providing solutions to Manage Innovation, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Strategies. The focus of its activities has been intended towards the betterment of society and businesses through improved management practices.

Vision ICT

Computer Science Department of COMSATS Abbottabad organized VisionICT. It provided a platform for conducting various IT-related activities with a Focus on the challenges of the ICT world and quality education to the level of excellence.

CCIS

Computational Complexities, Innovation & Solution. This event was held to gather researchers and scientists to present their recent achievements in the field of computation Mathematics. The primary objective of the symposium was to bring together computational scientists from all fields of the traditional sciences i.e. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Medicine and all branches of Engineering.

S-Dev

The launching of the S-Dev workshop was intended to give our scientists and graduates an opportunity to help in the development of technology based economy in the country. It was also a call from the Comsats Institute if Information Technology to reaffirm its commitment towards scientific development and a strategic action to appreciate the role of scientific research and technology for the socio-economic development of the country. It was also a call from the Comsats Institute if Information Technology to reaffirm its commitment towards scientific development and a strategic action to appreciate the role of scientific research and technology for the socio-economic development of the country. 

Height

Humanities Department organized HEIGHT that stands for Humanities, Excellence, Ideology, Goal, Honesty and Truthfulness.  The department organized a seminar on the topic,"The Importance of National Integration in the Present Scenario", under the logo HEIGHT on May 12, 2014.The event was organized in connection to a series of events held under the umbrella of Technomoot 2014 in COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad. The faculty and students of COMSATS, Abbotabad as well as a large number of distinguished guests and students from all over the country attended the seminar.

The event began with the recitation of Quranic verses by Muhammad Mairaj.Later, Dr.Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Head of Humanities Department, welcomed the guests and thanked them for sparing their precious time for the seminar.

Mr. Orya Maqbool Jan attended the seminar as the keynote speaker.He is a renowned columnist, poet and a seasoned bureaucrat who writes Urdu columns for Daily Express, Pakistan. He has received numerous national awards, including the best Urdu columnist in 2004. He also worked as a Managing Director of Baluchistan Water & Sanitation Authority. He is presently working as Secretary Archives & Libraries and Director General Walled City Project in Lahore.
