World Space Week is an annually celebrated international event on the contribution of space, science and technology in the betterment of the human kind. United Nations has declared World Space Week as October 4-10 annually.
It is celebrated in almost 65 nations of the world including Pakistan. Pakistan Upper Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), as a national space agency, has been regularly conducting WSW activities each year since 2005 to increase awareness of space technology and to promote its peaceful usage amongst students and the masses in Pakistan.
SUPARCO has extended WSW activities throughout Pakistan with the partnership of key educational institutions of Pakistan. CIIT Abbottabad and SUPARCO conducted this year’s Space Week on 5-6 November 2014 with participation from schools and colleges of Abbottabad, Haripur, and Mansehra. “COMSATS Literary Society (CLS)” organized the competitions and also conducted all the stage activities. Painting and Sketching competition was conducted by the team of “Aadrish”. The competitions that took place were as follows:

Closing ceremony was conducted on the second day and prizes were distributed among the winners. Souvenirs were also presented to the SUPARCO team.
