Chemistry Department Won 3rd Prize in Falling Walls Competition

Falling Wallsis a unique international platform for leaders from the worlds of science, business, politics, the arts and society. It was initiated on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. Falling Walls fosters discussion on research and innovation and promotes the latest scientific findings among a broad audience from all parts of society.

The Falling Walls Lab is a challenging, inspiring and interdisciplinary format for outstanding talents. It offers the opportunity to excellent academics and professionals to present their innovative ideas, research projects and social initiatives. Each participant is asked to present his/her work in 3 minutes in any discipline. A prestigious jury from science and business awards the best participants.

This year (October 10th, 2017), nearly 160 participants applied for this competition and 13 were shortlisted for the presentation. The team of Dr. Ahson Jabbar Shaikh also participated in this event with his Graduate student, Muhammad Jawad (MS – Chemistry, 2nd Semester) and won overall third prize in this competition. The idea was about “Multifunctional Building Integrated Photovoltaics”. We congratulate Dr. Ahson J. Shaikh, his team, specifically Graduate Student Muhammad Jawad for this wonderful success.
